The nearest towns are Pickering (10 mins drive) and Whitby (20 mins drive). Whitby is the livelier of the two with many bars and restaurants to visit after a day on the slope. Both places offer many self catering cottages or bed and breakfasts.

The Horseshoe Inn in Levisham is good if you want somewhere closer to the slopes

Marfit Head Farm offers camping right next to the Hole of Horcum
